Livelihood improvement initiative takes the largest portion of the pie of the BAZA Development Agenda

Livelihood refers to the means and activities by which individuals and families earn a living to meet their basic needs including food, shelter, clothing and other necessities needed in life. It encompasses the capabilities, assets (including both material and social resources), and activities required for a means of living. A livelihood is sustainable when it can cope with and recover from stresses and shocks, maintain or enhance its capabilities and assets, while not undermining the natural resource base. Improving Livelihood is a critical factor in development initiatives, it is aimed at reducing poverty, ensuring food security, and improving overall well-being, particularly in contexts where people are vulnerable to economic shocks, natural disasters, and other challenges.

Livelihood improvement has always been a top priority of agenda for the Baza Development Association (BAZADA). Recognizing the importance of enhancing the quality of life for our Baza population, BAZADA is committed to dedicate significant efforts to drive sustainable livelihood improvements in the community across the localities where Baza people dwells. BAZADA’s approach to Livelihood Improvement recognizes that people’s livelihoods are influenced by a range of interconnected factors, such as access to education, health services, social services, infrastructure, natural resources, markets, and governance structures. It emphasizes on the need to address these multiple dimensions of livelihoods in a comprehensive and integrated manner.

The multifaceted approach undertaken by Baza Development Association focuses on various aspects of livelihood improvements, including economic growth, employment opportunities, education, healthcare, and social safety-nets. By addressing these key areas, BAZADA aims to create a conducive environment that uplifts the lives of its people and ensure their overall well-being.

One of the main pillars Baza Development Agenda is fostering economic growth. Improving Livelihood through education and Skills development

BAZA Development Agenda places great emphasis on education and skill development. Recognizing that knowledge and skills are fundamental for individuals to thrive in the modern world, BAZADA will implement educational initiatives that enhance access to quality education and vocational training. By equipping its population with relevant skills, BAZADA will empower the community to secure better livelihood opportunities and contribute to the overall development of the Baza population.

Improving Livelihood by building a healthy community

Building a Healthy Community is another crucial aspect of the BAZA Development Agenda. BAZADA aims to ensure that every community member maintains health quality life, regardless of their socio-economic status. By developing adequate healthcare infrastructure, improving medical facilities, and implementing comprehensive health programs, BAZADA seeks to enhance the well-being of its people and reduce susceptibility to diseases that succumbs individuals to be unproductive individuals and families.

BAZADA Livelihood Improvement approach is context-specific and flexible

BAZADA takes into account the unique socio-cultural, economic, and environmental characteristics of the Baza community. It promotes sustainable and resilient livelihood strategies that enhance Baza communities’ capabilities, improve their well-being, and contribute to poverty reduction, social inclusion, and economic sustainability. BAZADA will utilize a participatory approaches that often involve active engagement and participation of local communities in decision-making, planning, implementation, and monitoring of interventions. This ensures that interventions are contextually relevant, owned by the Baza community itself, and reflect their aspirations and needs.
